| M. Roy Wilson, MD, MS, graduated magna cum laude from
Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania in 1976 and received
his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1980. He
then completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Harlem
Hospital Center, as well as a residency in Ophthalmology and
a fellowship in Glaucoma at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear
Infirmary of Harvard Medical School. Dr. Wilson later completed
a Master of Science in Epidemiology at UCLA in 1990. He has
served as a professor at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine
and Science and at UCLA, and as the Dean of the School of
Medicine and Vice President for Health Sciences at Creighton
University in Omaha, Nebraska. He also worked at Saint Joseph
Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Currently, Dr. Wilson is the
President of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center
in Lubbock, Texas.
Dr. Wilson has received numerous awards, including an Honor
Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and has
been listed in Best Doctors in America since 1996. He is a
member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology,
the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma
Society, and the American Ophthalmological Society. He serves
on the Glaucoma Advisory Committee for Prevent Blindness America.
Dr. Wilson serves as a reviewer for such publications as
the Journal of Glaucoma, American Journal of Ophthalmology,
Ophthalmology, Journal of the American Medical Association,
and Archives of Ophthalmology. He is on the Editorial
Advisory Board for Focus on Glaucoma and the Editorial Board
for Archives of Ophthalmology. Dr. Wilson has received
grants for numerous clinical trials; has given presentations
for the National Medical Association, the American Academy
of Ophthalmology, and the American Glaucoma Society; and has
published numerous articles on glaucoma and other topics.
